Hello. I have got a miniature Poodles puppy 20 weeks old. She is in raw food, from a uk company. She seems to be sensitive to the bones and gets tummy pain and occasional vomiting just the tiny bones. Is there any supplements to cover the bones if I just cut them off her diet until she grows a bit older. And being a poodle and risk of purines, is your keeper mix and garlic suitable for this breed?? Thank you very much indeed. Maria
Hi Maria,
Unfortunately we do not have a specific product that will replace the calcium content from their food, however our Easy Green Powder does contain a naturally occurring amount of calcium. This product does have spinach in, which has levels of purine, so we would recommend to discuss this further with your vet.
The Keepers Mix and Garlic are low in purines, and so should be suitable to use. Keepers Mix is a great product to use alongside raw food as well as it contains natural antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll, fibres and complex bioactive compounds. Keeper’s Mix has a positive effect on many organs and supports their function to help maintain the body’s natural balance 😊 The Dorwest Team
Hello I have a 6 month old American Staffordshire terrier and he really doesn’t on with any dry food and have herd about Raw feeding was wondering what is the best suplements for him and how many do you need to put in a mix ? Thanks …
Hi Jess. The three products in our blog are the products we would recommend for all diets including raw feeding. We call these products our everyday essentials. The Garlic & Fenugreek Tablets are great to boost the immune system, help minor infections and create an environment that fleas and ticks do not like. The maintenance dose for this medicine is 1 tablets per 5-10kg bodyweight. The Omega Star is packed with natural omega 3’s & 6’s to help maintain a shiny and healthy coat. You can check the administration on the product page. And finally, our Keeper’s Mix is a blend of 8 herbs which target different areas of the dog’s body to maintain all round health and contains many minerals and vitamins. Again you can check the amounts on the product page. If you’d like more help or advice do drop us an email at [email protected] – The Dorwest Team
Hi, I have a 20 week Shar-Pei puppy currently raw fed. Is the keepers mix suitable for puppies?
Hi Jessica,
Yes all our products can be given from 8 weeks old.
Hi I have a cavachon cross ,she’s a rescue so we aren’t sure what she fully is but she is 9 months old and we feed her raw. I was just wondering how much would you put in and it would be suitable for her and her age, she is also very/mostly active depending on the day
Thanked by lilly
Hi Lilly,
Which product are you enquiring about? All of our products can be given from 8 weeks.
Our products are administers by the weight of the dog so for Keeper’s Mix, we would recommend 1 measure for less than 10kg, 2 measures for 10-25kg, 3 measures for 25-45kg.
Omega star we would recommend giving 2.5ml for less than 10kg, 5ml for 10-25kg and 7.5ml for 25-45kg.
Our Garlic and Fenugreek Tablets: 1 Tablets per 5-10kgs
Hope this helps. If you would like any more advice please call 01308 897272 to speak to one of our advisors.

Hi feeding raw to my two dogs which is the best supplement to use Tina
Hi Tina – our best general, all round supplement is Keeper’s Mix – this is what we’d recommend to compliment raw feeding diets. We also have our Everyday Health leaflet (available on our downloads page) which describes more about this and our other day-today supplements. If we can be of any further assistance please don’t hesitate to call us or drop us an email.
My 10kg Border Terrier, aged eight and a half, adopted dog, has hyperthyroidism, double hip dysplasia, and borderline Cushing’s Disease. She needs to lose at least 2kg. Am planning to put her on a raw food diet, minced quality meat/bones, veg, fruit. I am familiar with BARF because last Terrier on it. Familiar with Keeper’s Mix. Is that sufficient supplement for Grace considering the health issues. Any recommendations?
Sincere thanks.
Hi Linda – Thank you for your question. Our Keeper’s Mix is a great all round supplement and would certainly be beneficial. If you need to discuss more specific information about using this alongside any medication your dog is currently taking it is best to give us a call. – Ben
