Supporting animal welfare this Christmas: £8,000 donated through the Dorwest Foundation

This December, we are proud to announce that £8,000 has been donated to animal charities as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting the wellbeing of dogs and cats in need. These donations are made through The Dorwest Foundation, established during our 70th anniversary to show our on-going commitment to charitable giving.

The aim of the Dorwest Foundation

'To help dogs and cats that are in need of care, health and quality of life improvements and to support charities where dogs are trained to help humans either in an assistance, rescue or medical capacity’

The Dorwest Foundation will help dogs and cats that are in need of care, health and quality of life improvement. We will donate to established animal welfare charities on an annual basis through the sales of our special foundation products.

Our brilliant supplements Keeper’s Mix® & Keeper’s Mix® Sensitive are our official Foundation Products with 10% of profit from every sale will be donated. By purchasing a product perfect for your pet’s foundation you will also support others.

We know we aren’t the only pet-lovers out there who want to support the welfare of dogs and cats, so we’ve made it easy for you to support dogs and cats with Dorwest.

Charities supported in 2025

This year, we are pleased to have supported five charities whose work aligns closely with our mission to protect and promote animal wellbeing.

Margaret Green Animal Rescue

Founded in 1965, Margaret Green Animal Rescue provides care and secure shelter for pets who have been neglected, abandoned, or whose owners are no longer able to look after them.

This December, members of the Dorwest team also volunteered at the Church Knowle centre in Dorset, helping to repair storm damage and clearing weeds the cattery grounds. To learn more, read our full blog here >

Hope Rescue

Operating across South Wales since 2005, Hope Rescue provides essential support to stray, relinquished and abandoned dogs, ensuring they receive medical care, rehabilitation and the opportunity to find new homes.

DASH Dogs

DASH stands for Dream of A Safe Haven. This organisation provides lifelong care to homeless, abused and abandoned dogs in Greece, many of whom would otherwise face extreme hardship without intervention.

Wild at Heart Foundation

With an estimated 75% of the world’s 900 million dogs living as strays, Wild at Heart Foundation addresses welfare challenges on a global scale through sterilisation, education and sustainable community support programmes.

Thin Blue Paw Foundation

Supporting both serving and retired police dogs across the UK, Thin Blue Paw provides vital funding for medical treatment, rehabilitation and ongoing care, ensuring these dedicated working dogs receive the support they deserve.

Our continued support for animal welfare

Over the years, The Dorwest Foundation has contributed to numerous welfare initiatives through financial donations, product support, equipment and partnership activities. We remain committed to expanding this work as the Foundation grows.

“Every day brings new challenges to charities, especially in the last few unprecedented years. This support makes a real and lasting difference, and I’d like to thank every one of our customers who made this possible. We look forward to continuing this important work and extend our gratitude to those working within these charities for their dedication and care.”
Jo Boughton-White, Managing Director
