We’re looking for a social media whizz to join our award-winning team for minimum 10 months’ maternity cover from November 2026.
Please note this is an office-based role, we’re looking for applicants who currently live within a commutable distance of Poundbury, Dorset.

For this role, you will need to have fantastic work ethic, a positive 'can-do' attitude and a genuine passion for social and the pet industry. You should be creative and excel working within a team. But ultimately, you should be able to connect our brand with online customers through our social platforms and spot key opportunities to grow the brand and increase conversion.
Key Responsibilities
Social media activities, including:
- Platform management / strategy for: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok & LinkedIn.
- Post & video creation, using Photoshop/Canva/CapCut to create & edit assets.
- Platform post scheduling & analysis using Metricool.
- Social giveaway organisation & management.
- Digital agency management, writing paid social campaign briefs.
- Social weekly & monthly KPIs.
- Social customer service, answering customer questions within 24 hours including some evenings and weekends.
- Regular social competitor review for inspiration & informing strategy.
- Attending industry events (including Crufts in March 2027) & social coverage.
Brand ambassador & partner management, including:
- Ambassador requests, onboarding and contract management.
- Ambassador content management and communications, including reporting.
- Partner & influencer management including Live co-ordination, campaign briefing and reporting.
- Event ticket organisation for ambassadors & partners.
Brand tasks and other marketing requirements, including:
- Copywriting for brand marketing.
- Brand asset creation required other than social.
- Support for brand activities and assets, including photoshoots & catalogue.
- Proof reading and copywriting for other marketing requirements.
The Role
- Assisting the Marketing Manager with data insights from key areas of responsibility (above) to support strategic decision making, campaigns & general communications.
- Working closely with the Digital Marketing Lead to ensure email, blog and other content is aligned to the campaign / social calendar.
- Responsible for all social media platform management, from the planning of weekly posts to top level strategy, ensuring balance between brand, non-brand and promotional comms.
- Responsible for the management of brand ambassadors, including contracts & requirements, monthly briefing of campaigns, weekly management / review of content and reporting.
- Responsible for the management of key brand partners, collaborations and influencers, including contracts & requirements, campaign briefing, management of organic and paid content and assets and reporting.
- Ensuring regular competitor review and industry insights for social campaigns and promotions.
Skills Needed
- Organised, high level of accuracy and fantastic attention to detail.
- 2 years minimum experience in a digital marketing role.
- Proven track record of social platform management.
- Creative, with an understanding of the importance of branding.
- Self-starter with a passion for digital marketing / social & customer intelligence.
- Customer focused with commercial awareness.
- Strong team player & fantastic IT skills including preferred knowledge of in-platform Analytics & Google Analytics.
- Preferred knowledge of Retail FMCG / product marketing experience.
- Good copywriter, with a passion for the pet industry!
Practical Details
- Contract: 10-month maternity cover
- Location: Full time, with 3 x days per week in the office (Poundbury)
