General Anxiety

Rhodey’s been on the Scullcap and Valerian Tablets for almost a year now and we’ve seen such a huge positive improvement to his general quality of life. He was such a hard dog to take out due to being petrified of almost any changed variable in his routine which made it so difficult to be able to train positive associations into him. We’re now able to take him out on big adventures to new places and even stopping off to dog friendly cafe’s at the end of our walks, something we would never have been able to do before without a lot of barking and ending up with a very stressed dog! Although we still have to be very careful around new dogs and people, carrying a muzzle and putting him back on lead when we see anyone in the distance, he’s always surprising us when he doesn’t react or shows subtle stress signs he’s not used in a long long time making it so much easier for us to get him out of situations he’s uncomfortable in. I’d always recommend Dorwest and continue to use their products, its amazing to have found such an effective product that is natural too!”

Firework fear

“My Bernese, Fizz, usually sits on sofa shaking and whinging or tries to hide under the dining room table but this year, thanks to the Scullcap and Valerian Tablets she was quite happy chilled out on the sofa even snoring at one point! She didn’t bat an eyelid at them! I’m so pleased 🐶🐾”

Travelling

“Since Monty was a puppy, he was very anxious in the car. It got to the point that every time we were getting ready to go out, he would hide. Using Valerian Compound helped him so much. I cannot say he enjoys the car ride but he much calmer and settled. Valerian Compound is completely natural and does not make him sedated and drowsy which is very important for me!”

Rescue

“Ossie, our 4-year-old Welsh Collie, was rescued with his mum and siblings when he was just one week old. He has always been an anxious dog, despite socialisation as a pup, and developed his own quirks as he got older. He didn’t want to travel in the car, started getting separation anxiety, found visitors to the house very stressful and started pacing between the front door and window to keep an eye on what was going on outside.
Since putting him on Dorwest Scullcap & Valerian Tablets we have noticed a huge change in him, which has enabled us to teach him some coping techniques, such as heading to his bed for some chill time when visitors arrive at the door. The Scullcap and Valerian Tablets have worked wonders, helping him to relax, without zonking him out; I can now leave him while I head out to work for a few hours knowing he’s calm and his anxieties regarding travelling in a car are virtually non-existent. When we have an extra stressful event coming up I also use the Valerian Compound as a top up. He’s still the same Ossie but a whole lot happier and much less stressed!”

Hi
Im just wondering if you have an Australian distributor?
Thank you
Hello! Unfortunately we do not have a distributor available in Australia. Please email info@dorwest.com and we can see if there are any suitable elsewhere!
Hi
My 6kg 4 month old puppy is always on alert and is sick on car journeys. We have been giving her one skullcap and valerian tablet (split into 2 doses) for a couple of weeks and one digestive tablet an hour before we travel. The sickness stopped for a couple of weeks now has come back can we also give her the valerian compound or will it all be too much? And are our doses correct for her weight?
Thank you
Hi Julie – Yes this is the correct amount for her weight and can be increased to double if you feel it's needed. You can add the Valerian Compound for additional support as this is ideal for unexpected stressful events such as car journeys. This is also suitable to use alongside the Digestive Tablets.
I have a 21kg saluki x greyhound and have been giving her the tablets for probably 4 months or more now. After giving it more than the time stated to take effect, I have found that the only dose that seems to help at all is double dose which is stated as the highest amount I can give. Is this ok to give for longer term use as just worried if that much could cause other side effects?
Hi Tanya – Based on her weight, she will need 4 tablets per day however as you know, these can be doubled as and when required and can be on this dosage long term. I hope this helps!
Hi, my 13 year old dog is an anxious traveller and is also diabetic. We planning a long drive north in a couple of weeks time, which frequently results in vet visits at the other end for colitis. Is it too late to start her on something now?
Hi Jackie – No, it's not too late to start. We would recommend our Scullcap & Valerian Tablets to help reduce anxiety and stress. If you are able to start these as soon as possible to allow them to get into they system. These work to naturally support the calming pathways within the nervous system, reducing anxiety without causing drowsiness. You can also use our Valerian Compound as a top-up before you leave. This takes around 30 minutes to take effect and lasts up to 2 hours. These can be used together. If you find they get travel sickness as well as anxiety, you could try our Digestive Tablets. These contain ginger, valerian and peppermint to help calm and settle tummies and aid digestion. Another good one to have for digestive issues is our Tree Barks Powder. The gentle action of slippery elm bark and white poplar bark naturally soothes tummies by slowing the passage of food, allowing nutrients to be absorbed and firming stools. I hope this helps! I’ve been giving my fear reactive flat coated retriever your skullcap and valerian tablets for the last six months and it really helps him. I stopped them for a couple of weeks and he immediately regressed to barking and lunging at anything that scared him , so I quickly put him back on the tablets.
My question is, can I keep giving them to him indefinitely? I dread him not having them!
Hi Antoinette – Yes, our Scullcap & Valerian Tablets are suitable for long term use.
