One of our best sellers for 60 years, and a fundamental Dorwest herbs ‘staple’ product, packed full of natural active compounds to support general health and help keep your pet feeling their best. While fenugreek contains soothing and antioxidant compounds to neutralise free radicals.
What are the key benefits of Garlic & Fenugreek For Dogs?
• General health – helps keep your pet in top condition
• Immunity – supports the immune system
• Skin – supports skin turnover and function
• Joints – helps to maintain comfort and mobility
How do Garlic & Fenugreek Tablets help my pet’s skin?
Healthy skin is a vital first line of defence against disease and an essential part of a happy pet, so skin problems can be a real source of misery! Unfortunately they are common, especially in dogs, with a wide range of potential causes.
Garlic and fenugreek contain active compounds that are proven to help the body remain strong against disease, parasites and infectious agents in a variety of ways, as well as amino acids that are essential for growth and repair. When combined, these two superherbs complement each other, boosting their overall effects.
Our Garlic and Fenugreek Tablets help maintain normal skin function – especially important when the skin may need some extra TLC due to sensitivity. They also support normal ongoing skin turnover – vital for healing and maintaining the skin barrier; one of your pet’s most important defences against disease. Garlic and Fenugreek Tablets are particularly effective when used in combination with our Green Releaf Tablets.
Should I be worried about garlic toxicity?
You may have been told that garlic is toxic to dogs and cats and so wonder why we sell garlic products specifically for them? It’s true that garlic can be toxic to our pets but like with many things, it comes down to how much and how it is administered. Even people can experience some nasty side effects if they consume too much garlic!
Our garlic-containing products are developed to allow you to administer a consistent, measured amount of garlic to your pet, so that they can enjoy the many benefits of garlic and you can have peace of mind. A recent study demonstrated that giving garlic extract to dogs, at a much higher amount than that found in our products, had no adverse effects.
But don’t take our word for it, here is a review from Becci Hodge, a Labrador breeder who previously featured on ITV’s Puppy Secrets!
“We have used Dorwest Garlic & Fenugreek Tablets For Dogs for over 25 years and since starting our small kennel of Labradors on the daily dose, we have not had any problems with fleas or skin issues.

If there has been kennel cough reported locally to us, we have increased the daily dosage and even if our dogs have caught the bug, they seem to recover a lot quicker.
Our dogs free run daily in woodland, work out in a shoot in winter and compete in agility as well as show all round the country in breed, so if they get any minor grazes or injuries, we have no worry about any lasting effects.
We use the maintenance dose of this dog supplement routinely as it is a natural antibiotic, antiseptic, anti-viral and anti-inflammatory; with our new puppies starting on it from about 8 weeks of age and they stay on it all their life. There is a stock in the car so if we are away over night the dogs never miss out on the dose!”
Garlic and Fenugreek Tablets For Dogs can be fed daily to improve the health of your pet, as well as these essential daily dog supplements that we recommend for a health super-boost!

Does this product contain any grain ?
Hello Sharon! The Garlic & Fenugreek does not contain any grain.
can i give a pup garlic and fenugreek alongside keepers mix, he can have it in his food or he wont eat it so has it frozen in goats milk as a treat, can the tablets be broken to do the same or do they need to go down whole
Hi Beth – Yes these can be given together and the Garlic & Fenugreek Tablets can be crushed if that's easier. Also, we do have a new Sensitive Keeper's Mix which has a few different herbs in and has a less strong taste which might be useful for you.
Our 7 year old Westie is nearly two weeks into the G&F tablets: 2 a day for her skin itching. But she’s been noticeably quiet over the last couple of days, reluctant to go out, not eating and definitely has more wind. Wondering if her stomach’s being irritated by the tablets. Any incidences of this in other dogs to your knowledge?
Hi Hugh – Whilst it is very rare (less than 1 in 10,000 animals treated), Garlic and Fenugreek Tablets can sometimes cause mild digestive upset. However this would normally be expected within a few days of using the tablets. We record any instances of possible reactions to any of our products so it would be greatly appreciated if you could contact us directly at info@dorwest.com so that we can gather some more information for our report. In the mean-time we would recommend stopping the tablets until she is back to normal. You could then reintroduce the tablets gradually and see whether the same reaction occurred as it may be that her digestion needs time to adjust to them in the diet.
Hi my dog gave birth 4 days ago puppies aren't putting on as much weight as they should be there's no sign of mastitis so wondering if it's not enough milk she's had 9 puppies they are cockapoos can these be used to help enhance milk production? Thanks
Hi Jade – Urtica Urens 30C can help to support milk production so can be helpful for those that need a little extra help maintaining milk flow. You give 1 pillule 3 times per day for up to one week.
My. Vet says that garlic is toxic for dogs so now dont know whether to give him your garlic and fenegret tans
Concern regarding safety of garlic for dogs is often raised due to garlic being from the same Allium family as onions (which have been proven to have adverse effects in dogs relating to haemolytic anaemia). Studies involving the toxicity of garlic in dogs is limited and any that have found toxic effects use large amounts of garlic that would be unlikely to be ingested in normal life (multiple bulbs of garlic each day). This then overshadows the fact that small amounts of garlic can have many beneficial and therapeutic effects. Our Garlic and Fenugreek Tablets and Garlic Tablets are both licensed veterinary herbal medicines through the VMD, so are licensed in the same way as conventional medicines. In order to be licensed, they have to be deemed safe and effective for use at the recommended amounts. If you would like further information regarding the use of garlic in our products, please email advice@dorwest.com
Reading the instructions o two tabs per 5+ kg I am giving my chihuahua who is under 5kg one tablet then half hole this is right….
Plus are there any side effects ?
Hi Madeline – For your chihuahua, we would recommend a treatment dose of 2 tablets daily for a minimum of 1 month. Or a maintenance dose of 1 tablet per day. There aren't any known side effects of these tablets however if you need to seek further advice, please get in touch with our advisors. Email advice@dorwest.com or call 01308897272
