Frightened, anxious, hyperactive and stressed animals can be calmed quickly using this easy to give liquid.  Dropped into the mouth, given on food or even just a few drops sprinkled on a pet’s bedding can result in a more amenable pet, so visits to the vet, travelling or moving house instantly become less stressful situations. Cats particularly love the smell of Valerian Compound, so administration really couldn’t be simpler.

The concentrated herbal extracts used in this liquid ensure that within just 30 minutes a noticeable change in behaviour occurs without causing drowsiness and the effects are quite short lived. In situations that have a longer duration then we recommend also giving Scullcap and Valerian Tablets. When faced with unexpected events like thunderstorms, Valerian Compound has a fast action and it can also be used in conjunction with Scullcap and Valerian Tablets in especially fearful situations and for phobic animals.

Ingredients: Organic extracts of Vervain 50%, Valerian root 25%, Mistletoe 25% conforming to British Herbal Pharmacopoeia standards.

Administration: Small dogs & cats ¼ tsp; Medium dogs ½ tsp; Large dogs 1 tsp; Giant breeds 1½ tsp. given when required. It is not recommended that more than two lots of the above amounts be given in a 24 hour period.

Use during pregnancy and lactation: Not recommended

Age from which can be used: 8 weeks of age

Interactions: Can be given in conjunction with any other medication

Long or short term use: Short term use.

Special warnings: Caution should be taken when administering to exotic cats with low body fat, as very occasionally hyperactivity has been induced. Bottles have a glass pipette dropper for easy administration but which require care in use to avoid breakage or injury.

Always read the label

Long distance travelling with an anxious cat.

I found Dorwest via a search engine as I needed urgent advice as I needed to take my rescue cat Mimi back to the UK from France and it was going to be the minimum of a 10 hour journey. I had already got her pet passport and vaccinations done. Although I had been given some tranquillisers by the local vet, when I tested them out on Mimi, she did not take to them well so we had to find an alternative. When I rang the company they could have not been more helpful and I purchased some Scullcap & Valerian Tablets, plus some quick acting Organic Valerian Compound. Although she tested my patience in taking the tablets as I gave them on a daily basis, starting them 2 weeks prior to the journey, we could not have made the journey without these products. She was a little unsure for the first hour or so, but I got her to lick some valerian compound from my finger. She eventually settled down. Such is my confidence in the products we arrived back in France with our beloved Mimi just a week ago. I am now stocked up with both products for our twice yearly visits to our holiday home. Well done Dorwest a great company and some very helpful advice on your website.

Lifesaver

Review By:
We recently rehomed a 6yr old boy who appears to be suffering from post traumatic stress - bereavement, house move, extended cattery stay and rehoming. Valerian worked within 30min calming him down, reducing aggression towards our other cat, making him more responsive to us and reducing his tendency to sit and stare into blank space. It's a brilliant product but rather strong smelling - still lots of smelly fish help to hide it. Thank you for helping us help him on the road to recovery.

Stressed dog when travels

Review By:
Excellent products and service. This company was recommended to me by the kennels that I use as my dog gets stressed when he stays with them. I bought some Organic Valerian Compound to use when he travels and also some Scullcap & Valerian Tablets. I have given him the compound on journeys and he is much more relaxed and calm. Have yet to use the tablets, and Keeping them for when I know he is due at kennels to stay. Spoke to company before ordering. Very pleasant and knowledgeable staff.

Noise phobia

Review By:
Just to let you know how Addy coped with the fireworks - I must say he was better, although he was listening and shaking a bit there wasn't the usual panting and trying to hide everywhere and he settled quicker after the event. So thank you the Scullcap and Valerian Tablets for a couple of weeks before and the Organic Valerian Compound helped on the night.

Fireworks

Review By:
I have a fifteen month old Boxer who has become anxious due to some unfortunate experiences with strangers and loud noises and is now prone to bolt at the least unfamiliar sound. I was worried about the annual Halloween fireworks display which takes place close to our house. The noise is quite loud even indoors, so I put him on Scullcap & Valerian Tablets for a good week with a dose of the Organic Valerian Compound before the fireworks were due to start. The tablets have been a great help in calming him down generally and he tolerates noise more easily. The effect of the liquid was obvious as he was still a bit anxious during the fireworks but not overly distressed or startled and he didn't try to bolt. His reaction was very mild and manageable compared with the extreme "freaked out" reaction we usually have. I would definitely recommend this product.

Loud fireworks

Review By:
I purchased the Firework Combo Pack for my two Staffordshire bull terriers. I started them on the tablets around 2 weeks before the local and very loud display which then didn't cause them any distress this year! I would highly recommend this product to anyone! Having tried most other things, this seems to be the only thing to have worked!! 5***** Rating from me!!

Monty is a lot calmer dog

Review By:
Monty our 3 year old miniature Schnauzer has noise sensitivity and firework time is very stressful for him and us. We've been using the Scullcap and Valerian tabs but the benefit of the Valerian drops are much more noticeable. He stops trembling and shaking and goes to sleep, without running away and trying to hide from us and everything. Hopefully next weekend will be the last fireworks until New Year but I will remember to keep these drops handy as poor Monty also reacts to thunderstorms. Thanks Dorwest!

Great help!

Review By:
Just a quick review to say how much this compound helped improve my spaniel's anxiety. He was very nervous in the evenings when we went to bed and we'd have to take it in turns to spend time sleeping on the stairs until he fell asleep......not ideal! After popping a dash of this into his evening meal, he became much more chilled and would happily snooze whilst we disappeared off to bed. Very pleased! We used this as well as the Skullcap tablets. Life savers!

The only thing that works

Review By:
I have tried many herbal formulas for my dog who has severe noise phobia, without success. Thunder and fireworks are especially bad. With your compound drops he simply falls asleep, during the noise. Truly a miracle for us.

Winning formula

Review By:
Used for agility competition with my young lurcher. Before she used to hoon around the arena in her 1st and sometimes 2nd runs. With a single dose of the Valerian compound she behaved impeccably and came away with two 1st's and a 2nd! Let's hope it continues to work as well.

Fireworks.

Review By:
Just a quick thank you on behalf of my dog CJ who has firework phobia. We have been working on it since we adopted her two years ago but your products have been the final piece in the jigsaw. We started the tablets a month ago in prep and have now added a dose of the Valerian Compound to her evening meal. Despite really loud fireworks she is literally snoring away in her crate at this moment. She is going out for walks the next day whereas last year she wouldn't leave the house for weeks. I never dared hope that we would get to this point but she has responded brilliantly to the valerian.

Magic!

Review By:
These are a life saver for dog and owner especially at firework time. One of my dogs,a rescue was very scared when she came but is now relaxed and happy .For both dogs instead of loud bangs, thunder, fireworks making life miserable a few drops of Valarian Compound and for several hours they are quite relaxed ignoring the noise. I recomment it to all my friends with pets who are stressed and they get similar results. It really does work and makes for happy dogs.

Travelling

Review By:
My cat was terrified of being put in her crate both for visits to the vet and for travelling. She would pee and poo in the crate and be in a completely panicked state. An hour after her dose of Dorwest Organic Valerian Compound, she was completely relaxed, only slightly frustrated to be in the crate, but not anxious at all.
